Waterfall Chandeliers

A waterfall chandelier is all about the cascade of crystal. Ours are built on a two-tier branch frame — two layers of aluminum branches around a central stem — hung with long strands of crystal that fall like water. Choose from 12 designs in Ø60 cm and Ø80 cm, with 9 to 14 lights, made in our own factory and sold direct from $100. Every one can be made with a longer chain for a high ceiling.

How a waterfall crystal chandelier is built

Each design starts with a central stem and two layers of welded aluminum branches, one above the other. Crystal strands hang from both layers, so light falls through the crystals from top to bottom — that is the waterfall effect. Compared with a single-tier branch chandelier, the two layers give a fuller, deeper shape that suits a tall room.

  • Ø80 cm, 14 lights: eight designs for large living rooms, foyers and stairwells.
  • Ø60 cm, 9–10 lights: four designs for standard foyers and smaller rooms.
  • Finishes: frame finish and crystal color are chosen with each order — for example a gold or chrome frame with clear, amber or black crystals.

Crystals are K5 as standard, and every model can be upgraded to K9 or Egyptian crystal at extra cost — see our K9 crystal guide.

Chain length and ceiling height

A waterfall chandelier looks best when it hangs well down into the room, but it still needs headroom: keep at least 7 ft between the floor and the bottom of the chandelier wherever people walk. That gives the maximum drop from the ceiling to the bottom of the fixture:

Ceiling heightMaximum drop, ceiling to bottom of chandelier
10 ft (3 m)about 3 ft (90 cm)
12 ft (3.7 m)about 5 ft (150 cm)
16 ft (4.9 m)about 9 ft (275 cm)
20 ft (6 m)about 13 ft (395 cm)

The drop includes both the chandelier and its chain. Every chandelier comes with a 1.5 m (59 in) chain that you can shorten on site; for a tall room, longer chains can be made to any length you need, as a custom option. Send us your ceiling height and we will tell you which size and chain length to order. For tall spaces, see also high ceiling chandeliers, foyer chandeliers and staircase chandeliers.

Same pendants as our branch chandeliers

Eleven of these waterfall designs share their crystal pendant with one of our single-tier branch chandeliers — Pear Drop, Oval Drop, Sunflower and more. That means you can hang a single-tier chandelier over the dining table and a matching waterfall chandelier in the foyer. See the full pendant table on our branch chandeliers page.

Installation, voltage and custom options

Every chandelier is weighed before shipping, and the weight is shown on your quotation and packing list, so your electrician can check the ceiling fixing in advance. We do not install on site; for larger projects our designers can prepare installation instructions and an installation plan for your space, as a paid service. Our chandelier installation guide covers the basic steps.

Standard models are wired for 220–240V with E14 sockets; the US version uses 120V and E12 sockets. Bulbs are not included. Our chandeliers are CE and RoHS certified, and UL certification can be arranged for confirmed orders. Size, frame color, crystal color, chain length and color temperature can all be adjusted; a modified model costs a little more than the standard one. See custom crystal chandeliers.

Waterfall chandelier FAQ

How long should the chain be for a waterfall chandelier?

Keep at least 7 ft between the floor and the bottom of the chandelier. With a 12 ft ceiling, that leaves about 5 ft for the chandelier and its chain together. Every chandelier comes with a 1.5 m (59 in) chain, and longer chains can be made to any length you need — send us your ceiling height and we will work it out.

What makes it a waterfall chandelier?

The frame has two layers of branches around a central stem, and long strands of crystal hang from both layers. Light falls through the crystals from top to bottom, like water.

How do I install a waterfall chandelier on a high ceiling?

Your local electrician installs it — we do not install on site. Every chandelier is weighed before shipping so the ceiling fixing can be checked in advance, and our designers can prepare installation instructions and a plan for your space as a paid service.

Is the same pendant available as a single-tier chandelier?

Yes. Eleven of our waterfall designs share their pendant with a single-tier branch chandelier. See the pendant table on our branch chandeliers page.

Can I change the size, chain length or color?

Yes. Size, frame color, crystal color, chain length and color temperature can all be adjusted. A modified model costs a little more than the standard one.
