Sizing a Chandelier to Your Dining Table

Size the fixture to the table, not to the room. A chandelier that looks correct in an empty room is usually too small once the table is under it.

Round and square tables

Aim for a diameter roughly 300mm narrower than the table on each side — wide enough to read as the centrepiece, narrow enough that no one leans into it.

• Table Ø900–1200mm → Ø60cm (9 lights)
• Table Ø1300–1600mm → Ø80cm (12 lights)
• Table larger than Ø1600mm → built to your dimension. Send the table size and we quote it

Long rectangular tables

A single round fixture over a long table leaves both ends dark. This is what the oval formats are for — they run with the table instead of sitting in one spot on it. As a rule the lit length should cover roughly half to two-thirds of the table length.

• Table 1800–2200mm long → 100×50cm oval (12 lights)
• Table 2200–2800mm long → 120×60cm oval (12 lights)
• Longer than that → a custom length, or two matched Ø60cm fixtures spaced evenly

Oval formats are part of the branch range. The round, modern and gold ranges are made in Ø60cm and Ø80cm, with other dimensions to order.

Hanging height

On a standard 2.4m ceiling, hang the bottom of the fixture 750–900mm above the table top. Add roughly 75mm for every additional 300mm of ceiling height. Seated sightlines across the table should pass under the crystal, not through it.
